Thailand ald ahead of Malaysia in term of eco car policy, Thailand with its eco car program had ald attract many car company such as Honda, Nissan and Mitsubishi to set up factory just for manufacturing eco car such as the Mirage, Macrh and Brio. Malaysia is still thinking how to make that kind of policy (EEV-Energy Efficient Vehicle) while Thailand is enjoying its success...
Many car company such as Toyota, Ford and Mazda choose Thailand or Indonesia even thought they suffer more environmental disaster such as earthquake and flood than Malaysia, just because Policy in Malaysia is not attarctive enough, and other Asean Country can provide better Policy and cheaper human resource...and Malaysia still struggle with its Proton and Perodua...
Yes, i agree that Proton and Perodua have improve much in term of quality of their product, but could they compete outside of Malaysia? the answer is no, why? because at other country such as UK, other car manufacturer can provide the same equipment car for less the price that Proton and Perodua can offer...for example, Proton Savvy is price at the same with Ford Fiesta at UK, if you are the consumer, which will you choose?
